Acupuncture

Curious about acupuncture? Here’s what to expect at Advanced Holistic Center:
We understand that many patients are new to acupuncture. Don't worry—we'll guide you through it. Upon arrival, your practitioner, led by Dr. Irina Logman, DACM, and her experienced team, will discuss your concerns and tailor a session to your needs. If you're nervous, let us know. We'll explain the process, utilizing small, sterile needles, and you'll rest for about 30 minutes. Your acupuncturist will then answer any questions you have and provide a personalized treatment plan before you leave.

“Outstanding and professional clinic. From the approach and service of patients through most oppressional and sensitive doctor. I went with a stressed muscle and could hardly move my leg, came back walking”

Therapeutic-Exercises

Physical therapy (PT) relieves pain, helping patients to move and function better. Our therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and education. We focus on orthopedic injury, sports rehabilitation, Pilates training, and therapy before and after surgery. Patients learn to prevent or manage the conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform daily activities.

Cupping

Chinese suction cup therapy, practiced for thousands of years, has gained recent attention for its use by professional athletes. At our center, we use glass cups with suction to perform vacuum cupping therapy. The cups, placed on the skin, create a vacuum using a small pump. This method disperses stagnant blood and toxins, promoting the stimulation of fresh blood and lymph. Unlike traditional “fire-cupping,” we prioritize safety and efficiency.

“Love this practice, I have worked with Dr Rinna, She's so amazing.”

Gua Sha

While gua sha appears to predate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), gua sha somehow became incorporated in the arsenal of TCM tools. Essentially, gua sha is a kind of massage that involves skin scraping using a spoon or a specialized tool. The reason why gua sha blends so well with acupuncture and tui na (Chinese massage) is because skin scraping is an effective way of stimulating acupuncture and trigger points. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment strategy, gua sha can be used to increase or disperse the qi in organs through their corresponding channels, which are accessible through the skin surface. In other words, gua sha can be successfully used as a stand-alone modality for treatment of many maladies, particularly musculoskeletal conditions, and it is gradually making its way into integrative medicine..

Moxibustion

Similarly to acupuncture, moxibustion can be used to treat almost anything. Moxibustion, Chinese medicine’s subdivision, follows the same principles of balancing internal organ activities and can treat any condition that is a result of that imbalance. In fact, the same system of points and channels is used for moxibustion and acupuncture, and the moxibustion methodology works on every physiological system of the body (digestive, respiratory, reproductive, musculoskeletal, and the others), but the greatest difference is in the nature of the procedure. Since what moxibustion therapy essentially does is warming up specific points and areas, it is more effective in the treatment of chronic conditions that are associated with deficient organ functions.
